A few weeks ago the Purl Bee blog featured a post about the Wonderful Wallaby, a cute pattern that looked like fun to knit. Best of all, it’s seamless! So, in my state of lovely NYC living and relaxation, I wandered down to Purl Soho (just before they moved to their new digs). I gathered up the materials needed for the sweater just in time for an airplane ride to and from Beijing. Though friends in Beijing predicted it’d take me several months to make the sweater, I finished it in about a week. Knitting on airplanes = perfect way to spend the time.
And it fit, just about perfectly! Glad I got it done before M outgrew it!

I used Spud & Chloe superwash yarn by Blue Sky Alpacca in a lovely aqua shade - suitable for both M and her forthcoming baby brother! The pattern was fun to follow, though I had trouble attaching the sleeves - the directions weren’t very clear and I wasn’t able to check online for advice, being 35,000 ft in the air, somewhere between Beijing and San Francisco. Once I was able to google it, it all went together easy as pie. I’ve since acquired yarn to begin making the sweater for myself and J.
